DOTTA

Participatory art sessions, London · In progress

DOTTA is a series of small-group, baby-friendly facilitated sessions for mothers with infants under one year old, held within some of London’s leading museums, including Tate Modern, Tate Britain, the Wellcome Collection, Whitechapel Gallery, the Barbican Centre, and the V&A. Each session lasts around 90 minutes and is limited to six participants, ensuring an intimate, supportive environment.

Our Vision

DOTTA emerges from a similar observation: early motherhood can be profoundly isolating, even within culturally rich urban environments. Each session creates a relaxed and accessible space where babies are welcome, and where artworks are used as prompts for gentle, guided conversations around early motherhood. Rather than traditional tours, DOTTA focuses on shared reflection and connection, allowing participants to engage with art through their own lived experience, without pressure or expectation. Groups are kept intentionally small, with a maximum of six participants, and sessions last approximately 90 minutes to ensure an intimate and supportive environment. Over a three-month cycle, fragments of these conversations - words, sentences, and reflections - are gathered and developed into a collectively produced zine, forming a shared narrative of an often isolating experience.

What to Expect
  • Taking place in spaces such as Tate Modern, Tate Britain, the Wellcome Collection, Whitechapel Gallery, the Barbican Centre and the V&A.

  • Babies are always welcome - there is no pressure to step away, stay quiet, or follow a set rhythm.

  • Limited to six mothers per session to ensure a calm, supportive atmosphere where everyone can feel seen and heard.

  • An opportunity to connect, share, or simply be alongside others going through a similar experience.

  • Words and reflections from each session are gathered and shaped into a shared publication every three months.
